We’re excited to invite you to SAYSA Night at Dairyland Café on Thursday, SEPTEMBER 25th from 3:30pm – 10:00pm ! Stop by after the Stoughton Varisty Boy Soccer Game for a treat!

Dairyland Dessert Café in Stoughton will be donating 20% of every dessert sold during this time to support the Stoughton Area Youth Soccer Association (SAYSA) .

It’s the perfect excuse to treat yourself to something sweet while helping keep kids in our community active, learning, and loving the game of soccer. Bring your family, bring your teammates, and join us for a fun night out!

Youth Night at Stoughton High School

Join us for Youth Soccer Night on Thursday, September 18th at Collins Field to support the Stoughton High School JV and Varsity soccer teams and celebrate youth soccer in our community!

Event Details:

JV Game: 5:00 PM
Varsity Game: 7:00 PM
Admission: FREE for all!
Wear your jersey to show your Stoughton soccer pride – but please leave cleats and balls at home.

Fun Activities:

Bake Sale Fundraiser: Supports new gear for SHS soccer
Kona Ice: Treats for sale (bring cash)
Soccer Sale: Gently used soccer gear, all proceeds support the program
Food: Pizza, hot dogs, and concessions available (cash only at hot dog stand)

Team Photo:

All SAYSA teams will be photographed on the field at 6:30 PM .
Players should arrive by 6:15 PM and meet their team at the field entrance.

Parent Volunteers Needed:

Help with player line-up for photos.

U9/U10 Boys: Scrimmage at halftime of JV game.
Meet at track entrance at 5:35 PM (35:00 minutes on JV game clock)

Meet at track entrance at 7:35 PM (35:00 minutes on Varsity clock)

Reminder: Players should wear jerseys, no cleats please .

SAYSA to Continue Referee Bonuses in 2025-26

Financial incentives continue for referees

SAYSA homes games had excellent coverage from officials during the 2024-25 season, thanks in part to financial incentives offered by SAYSA. The board voted to continue the same incentives in 2025-26. This includes higher pay for U9/U10 matches and a bonus payment after completing 7 SAYSA homes games. Please join us on the evening of Tuesday, May 13, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., at Collins Field to cheer on the Stoughton High School JV and Varsity soccer teams and celebrate youth soccer in Stoughton!

Admission is free to all soccer games! Games are reversed tonight so VARSITY plays at 5:00pm and JV will play at 7:00pm.
Show your Stoughton soccer pride by wearing your SAYSA jersey, but LEAVE YOUR CLEATS AND BALL AT HOME please!

THE FUN STUFF
Watching soccer, of course, and the following:

Bake Sale Fundraiser: All proceeds go directly to our Stoughton High School soccer program to purchase new gear
Kona Ice will also be available for purchase. Bring cash to enjoy a treat for a good cause!
Soccer Sale: Gently used soccer apparel/equipment donated by soccer families will be sold on site and all proceeds go directly to our HS soccer program.
Food: Don’t worry about having dinner before, we will have pizza in our concessions and a hot dog stand as well!

GROUP PHOTO TIME

A photo of all SAYSA teams will be taken on the field at 6:30. All players should report to the field entrance by 6:15 to line up with their team.
PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to help Denise Missall with player line up. If you are interested in helping, please email Denise at dmissall@sbcglobal.net . This can count toward required volunteer hours for SAYSA.

GAME TIME FUN - SCRIMMAGES

U9 teams will scrimmage on the field at half time of the Varsity game. Players to meet at track entrance with 35:00 minutes on the Varsity game clock (about 5:35pm).
U11 teams will scrimmage on the field at half time of the JV game. Players to meet at the track entrance with 35:00 minutes on the JV game clock (about 7:35pm)
U9 and U11 teams wear their jerseys and shin guards, but NO CLEATS PLEASE

Referees Needed! Financial Incentives and Training Available

SAYSA is always in need of more certified referees to cover our home games. If you’d like to contribute to youth soccer in Stoughton in a vital way (while getting some exercise), please see information below about how to get certified and the special bonuses SAYSA and others will be offering this season.

SAYSA Financial Bonuses

For the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 seasons, SAYSA will be offering the following increased rates for U9/U10 game officials (to help address a shortage at this age level):

In addition, SAYSA will offer a $70 bonus to SAYSA referees who officiate 7 or more SAYSA home games at any age level within the timeframe of a single fall or spring half-season (following the submission of verification ). Questions about receiving the bonus can be submitted to the SAYSA volunteer coordinator .

Referee Courses, MAYSA Bonuses, WYSA Reimbursement

Below is information sent by the Madison Area Youth Soccer Association:

The New Grassroots Referee Courses are now open! This is a great opportunity for any of you to become soccer referees, enjoy the game in a different way AND make money ( see per game fees ). There’s also a bonus & incentive program plus the opportunity to officiate at many local tournaments! And WYSA reimburses for the course ($70)!

The online portion of the new referee course is a great way for young people to fill the summer hours. And, for those 18 and older we recommend a little more time allocated because a background check is required before you can start. Minimum age per U.S. Soccer policy is 13 years old at the time of registering for the course (no exceptions, sorry). Once the online portion is completed there is an in person component (schedule below).

We would love to see you out there!…below are the instructions & guidance for signing up, provided by Wisconsin Program for Referee Development (WisRef).

2025 New Referee Course Information

New Referee courses are being offered by the Wisconsin Soccer Referee Development Program (WisRef) for a 2025 USSF Referee license expiring 12/31/2025. The successful referee candidate will have the opportunity to officiate games for the fall of 2024 and all of the 2025 calendar year. This course is for new, first time referees that have not been previously registered as a referee OR a previously registered referee who has had a lapse in registration (2022 or prior lapse). The cost is $70 for the course. Minimum age per U.S. Soccer policy is 13 years old at the time of registering for the course, there are no exceptions.

The course is completed in two parts: online coursework followed by and in-person training. Online portion must be completed prior to scheduling and in-person training.
